Freeman’s Sporting Club describes itself as “paying tribute to the vanishing art of American handmade goods.” The brand’s stores and products themselves are works of art, boasting handmade men’s clothing and accessories that every girl wants her boyfriend to be wearing. We stopped by the Bleeker Street branch for a chat with general manager Jesse Johnson on Freeman’s bespoke products. Between the beautiful shots of the store, and Jesse’s narrative of What’s Bespoke, this is the perfect way to start your Thursday morning.
“Our bespoke suits are hand-made from beginning to end, employing the timeless techniques of classic tailoring. Our master tailor takes all of the individual’s measurements in our tailor shop right in the back of the store, and cuts a paper pattern by hand.
The entire process usually requires four fittings – including a muslin fitting – over the course of four to six weeks. The result is a fully hand-canvassed suit that offers the fit and feel that only a suit that is made precisely for you can offer.
We carry a wide variety of fabrics from some of the finest mills around the world. Our staff and tailor have a wealth of knowledge and a real passion for the craft, making each process seamless and, most importantly, enjoyable.” - Jesse Johnson
