No surprise Beyoncé Knowles loves vintage Chanel. The much-coveted luxury brand is synonymous with classic beauty and fashion—two adjectives that could easily describe the former Destiny’s Child lead singer turned solo star.
While we can’t say for sure how or when Beyoncé began collecting the eye-catching vintage accessories, which date back to the early 20th century, we can guess who may be responsible for her passion. Her mother, Tina, a glamorous woman with an impeccable sense of style, has been influencing her famous daughter’s taste since birth. “She taught me the importance of looking good and feeling good,” Beyoncé once told The New York Observer.
Several blogs seem to track almost every single Chanel necklace, bracelet, and pair of earrings that Beyoncé wears, including when she dons the same piece twice with different outfits. In 2008, the singing sensation wore a set of vintage Chanel earrings to a Gotham magazine event. Those same elegant globe earrings later appeared in InStyle magazine’s list of “Beyoncé’s Fashion & Beauty Faves,” where she explained that they were a gift from her mother.
“I collect a lot of vintage jewelry,” Beyoncé said. “I love it because you know no one else has it. Sometimes I don’t even wear it – I just like to look at it.” Spoken like a true collector.
