To collect her prize, we asked Libby to answer one simple question: What’s Your Heirloom? Here’s her answer:
“My favorite heirloom is my engagement ring. It was my maternal grandmother’s wedding ring. My grandparents were married for more than 55 years (1938-1994). I attended their 50th anniversary party when I was 14 and I only hope that I can make the same milestone with my husband.
Because the ring was in storage for a while (after she passed away), my husband had to take it to an antique jeweler to restore it back to the ring’s original glory. My mother thinks it looks even better now than it did when my grandmother wore it. I wear it all of the time along with a replicated wedding band we designed to compliment the ring.”
