“Although I have numerous family heirlooms that have been passed down through generations, without a doubt, the most meaningful to me is the antique diamond ring that my husband presented to me the day he asked me to marry him at the base of Mt. Hood in Oregon.
This fragile yellow gold ring with a mine-cut diamond and a broken prong, I soon learned, had been his maternal grandmother’s engagement ring when she married on June 23, 1904. Still in its original condition, this ring is now my most treasured possession, and I keep it safe along with his grandmother’s cameo brooch (pictured), which was given to me by my husband’s late mother. The brooch dates back to the early 1900s as well.”
